Fargo police say officers fatally shot a 65-year-old suicidal person just before 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. Per police, officers were called to the 6100 block of 61st Avenue South for a medical assist for a suicidal individual at a home.

Fargo police are responding to what law enforcement sources say was an officer-involved shooting in the 6100-block of 61st Avenue South. KVRR’s Alex Bertsch reports from the scene that a neighbor reported hearing gunshots at approximately 10:40 a.

FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo Police responded to an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. in the area of 6100 block of 61st Ave. S. It was initially referred to as a ‘critical incident.”

Authorities in North Dakota are investigating an officer-involved shooting Wednesday that left one person dead in Fargo. The Fargo Police Department said officers were responding to a suicidal individual at a south Fargo home when the encounter took place.

WEST FARGO (KFGO) – West Fargo Police are investigating a shooting that happened at a home near Elmwood Park Tuesday night. Officers were called to the 700 block of 12th Avenue W. around 7:45 p.m. after a caller reported a gunshot.

Chief Dave Zibolski said his officers were engaged in dialogue with a suicidal man when he came out of a home holding a gun. Multiple officers fired their weapons.
