Kolkata: A group of junior doctors headed to the flood-affected regions in East and Paschim Medinipur, providing relief and medical care aid through the ‘Mobile Abhaya Clinic’ on Saturday, after ending their protest in front of the Health Department headquarters in Swasthya Bhawan on Friday.

Junior doctors in West Bengal partially resume duties after 42-day protest against rape and murder of colleague.

Doctors in West Bengal have rejoined their duties partially at various government-run hospitals in essential and emergency services, but not in the outpatient department (OPD).

The medics resumed duties in essential and emergency services, after the state government met some of their demands.

As per CBI, Dr Birupaksha Biswas was seen at the hospital on August 9 – the day of the crime – despite no official engagement there.

While the junior doctors returned to work in essential and emergency services at state-run hospitals, they have opted not to resume operations in the outpatient departments (OPDs)
