We are tracking for the trade winds to bring a few passing showers into the night and then lots of leeward sunshine during the day.Moderate to locally breezy trade winds will hold through the end of the week.

Weather remains stable as the islands are between a weak high-pressure system to the south and a distant low-pressure system to the north. A weakening low-pressure system about 700 miles north of Oahu is slowly moving west.

The National Weather Service predicts clearer skies and typical dry season weather for Oahu and Kauai with steady trade winds.

Light to moderate trade winds will gradually diminish Sunday. Light and variable winds are expected through Wednesday, with mostly clear nights and mornings, and warm and muggy afternoons with a slight chance of pop-up showers.

A band of clouds and showers moving over the windward areas of Maui and the Big Island earlier this evening, now reaching windward Oahu. This area of rain will bring more clouds and showers overnight across the state as it shifts from east to west,

We have a First Alert for more showers Sunday night through Monday as an area of deeper moisture moves through the islands. Some of the showers could be heavy at times over Hawaii Island. More typical trade wind conditions will return Tuesday and Wednesday.
