Ald. Ronnie Mosley (21st) said the closure is a breaking of a promise that Aldi would remain in the neighborhood.

The grocery store chain’s first store on Cape Cod is part of the company’s $9 billion national expansion over the next five years, according to its website. The Northeast is slated to have many more stores opening as part of that expansion.

Best known for its quirky offerings and everyday low prices, the discount grocer is making its debut on Cape Cod.

A new Aldi opened in Sussex with the help of a Paralympic medallist. The shop in Tanbridge Retail Park in Horsham is the town’s first Aldi and officially welcomed customers through its doors yesterday morning.
