A Kentucky sheriff allegedly shot a judge early Thursday afternoon. Here's a look at the motive behind the Letcher County shooting.

Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines, accused of killing Mullins, once served as a bailiff in the judge’s courtroom.

After announcing he was recusing himself from the case because of his relationships with the two men, the commonwealth's attorney for Letcher County is urging people to stop spreading rumors about what may have happened in the shooting death of a judge there.
